VICTOR BONIFACE RETURNS TO LEVERKUSEN AS AC MILAN DELAY TRANSFER OVER MEDICAL CONCERNS

Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has returned to Germany after medical concerns stalled his proposed move to AC Milan, despite spending the weekend in Italy for assessments.
The 24-year-old forward underwent extensive medical checks at La Madonnina Clinic and Galeazzi Hospital in Milan over the past 48 hours but was sent back to Bayer Leverkusen without a final clearance from the Serie A club.
Milan’s hesitation is understood to be linked to Boniface’s injury history, which includes two cruciate ligament tears during his time at Bodø/Glimt in 2019 and recurring muscle problems.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the situation on Sunday, noting that Milan’s decision is still pending.
“After medical tests at AC Milan, Victor Boniface returns to Germany, as there’s still no green light to his move,” Romano said.
“After 48 hours in Milano, Boniface will be back in Leverkusen today, waiting for AC Milan’s imminent decision on his medical checks.”
The deal under negotiation includes a €5 million loan fee with a €24 million purchase option, but Milan’s caution highlights the increasing importance of medical evaluations in modern football transfers, where long-term fitness can make or break multi-million-euro agreements.
