POLICE RECOVER SUSPECTED STOLEN PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS IN SULEJA

The Niger State Police Command has recovered eight cartons of suspected stolen pharmaceutical products from an uncompleted building in the Sandaco area of Suleja.

Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, explaining that the discovery was made on Monday night following a complaint from concerned residents.

“On 19th August 2025, at about 8pm, information was received at ‘B’ Div Suleja that some items were abandoned behind Sandaco area, Suleja. Police operatives attached to the Division moved to the scene, found and recovered eight cartons of pharmaceutical drugs/medicine, such as Amodiaquine, Sulfadoxine and Pyrimethamine,” the statement read.

The command said the items had been taken into custody while an investigation was underway to determine how the drugs were moved and abandoned in the area.

“The items were recovered to the Police station and it is under investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the location where the drugs were kept,” Abiodun added.
