LAGOS POLICE ARREST 60-YEAR-OLD MAN FOR ALLEGED RAPE OF 24-YEAR-OLD WOMAN

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested and arraigned a 60-year-old man, Ajayi Femi, for allegedly raping a 24-year-old woman after spiking her drink.

According to police authorities, the case was first reported by the victim’s sister at Meiran Police Station on August 22, 2025, before being transferred to the Command’s Gender Unit for further investigation.

Investigators revealed that the suspect allegedly drugged the survivor, rendering her unconscious, before having unlawful sexual intercourse with her without consent. Medical examinations conducted by the Gender Unit corroborated the allegations, while the suspect also made a confessional statement.

He has since been charged to court and remanded in custody, pending the next adjourned date.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, assured the public of the Command’s commitment to pursuing justice for survivors of sexual violence and maintaining a safe environment in Lagos State.

He further urged residents to promptly report cases of sexual offences to the Family Support Units across divisions and area commands for swift action.
