Former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori, has congratulated the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on the occasion of his 81st birthday and his forthcoming coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

In a personally signed statement made available on Tuesday, Ibori described Ladoja’s journey as a remarkable blend of divine favour, resilience, and unwavering commitment to justice and service to humanity.

“On behalf of my family, I celebrate His Excellency, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on his 81st birthday and his ascension as the 44th Olubadan,” Ibori stated.

He praised the former Oyo State governor as a principled leader and “dogged fighter for justice, equity, and fairness,” noting his patience and determination through political challenges and triumphs.

According to Ibori, Ladoja’s coronation symbolizes his fidelity to truth and tradition, while also marking a new era for Ibadanland. He prayed that his reign would bring peace, unity, and development to Ibadan, the South-West, and Nigeria at large.

It was reported that a week-long programme of events leading to Oba Ladoja’s installation began on Monday with an interdenominational prayer in Ibadan, Oyo State. The coronation is scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, in the ancient city.
