TINUBU HONOURS JONATHAN AT 68, CELEBRATES DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP

President Bola Tinubu has extended birthday felicitations to former President Goodluck Jonathan on his 68th birthday, praising him as a statesman whose contributions have left a lasting impact on Nigeria’s democratic development.

In a statement on Thursday issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu joined Jonathan’s family, friends, and political associates in celebrating the former leader.

“President Tinubu highlights the humility and simplicity that define Dr. Jonathan’s leadership, particularly his statesmanship during the 2015 presidential election, which strengthened Nigeria’s democracy and enhanced the nation’s international standing,” the statement read.

Reflecting on his past interactions with Jonathan, Tinubu acknowledged the former president’s guidance and support, which he said were instrumental in Jonathan’s political ascent, especially in 2010 and leading up to the 2011 presidential election.

“President Tinubu believes Dr. Jonathan’s statesmanship continues to inspire leaders, even as he undertakes challenging international diplomatic roles, promoting democratic values and culture across Africa,” the statement added.

Tinubu also prayed for continued good health and prosperity for Jonathan, his wife, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, and their family.
