TINUBU HOLDS EXTENDED SECURITY MEETING WITH SERVICE CHIEFS AMID RISING INSECURITY

President Bola Tinubu on Sunday entered into a prolonged high-level security meeting with the nation’s Service Chiefs at the State House, Abuja, as part of intensified efforts to address escalating insecurity across the country.
Those in attendance included the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke; Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Tosin Ajayi.
Photos from the meeting were shared by the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, via his official X account, indicating ongoing strategic deliberations. The session was still in progress at press time.
The meeting comes just hours after President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling security challenges, stating that his government would not relent until Nigerians are safe.
Earlier on Sunday, the President announced the rescue of 38 worshippers abducted from Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku, Kwara State, and 51 students kidnapped from a Catholic school in Niger State. He also disclosed that he cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally oversee the nation’s security response.
The ongoing deliberations are seen as part of broader efforts to strengthen coordination among security agencies and reinforce operations in vulnerable regions across the country.
