President Bola Tinubu has instructed security agencies to collaborate with state governors to curb future kidnappings across the country

Tinubu said students and children should no longer be allowed to fall victim to terrorism.

He gave the directive while commending security agencies for securing the release of 100 students from Papiri Catholic School in Niger State.

In a statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the president appealed to security agents to expedite the release of the remaining 115 students and teachers still held hostage.

Tinubu assured parents that the federal and Niger State governments are collaborating to reunite all abducted students with their families.

He stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to rescue all abducted Nigerians and safeguard schools across the country.

“I have been briefed on the safe return of 100 students from the Catholic School in Niger State. I congratulate Governor Umar Bago and commend our security agencies for their unwavering commitment in ensuring the students were reunited with their families following the unfortunate incident of November 21.

“My directive to the security forces remains clear: all students and other abducted Nigerians across the country must be rescued and returned home safely. Every victim must be accounted for.”

The Federal Government will maintain collaboration with Niger State and other states to secure schools and create a safer, more conducive learning environment for students.

“Going forward, our security agencies, in coordination with state governors, must take all measures to avert future kidnappings,” Tinubu stated.
