DABIRI-EREWA CONDOLES WITH ANTHONY JOSHUA OVER FATAL LAGOS–IBADAN EXPRESSWAY CRASH

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has expressed condolences to world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, following a fatal road accident involving him and members of his entourage along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The accident, which occurred on Monday on the busy highway, claimed the lives of two persons, while Joshua sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical attention.
In a condolence message, Dabiri-Erewa described the incident as a tragic loss and mourned the death of two members of Joshua’s entourage who lost their lives in the crash. She extended her sympathies to Joshua and the families of the deceased, praying for strength and comfort for all those affected.
“I wish you a quick recovery from your injuries and pray that God grants eternal rest to the souls of the departed and gives you and their families the fortitude to bear this painful loss,” she said.
Meanwhile, a joint statement by the Governors of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, disclosed that both state governments are closely monitoring the situation and have assured that Joshua and his driver will receive the best possible medical care.
The incident has continued to attract reactions from public officials and fans across the country, as investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
