FCT ELECTIONS: NO ARRESTS RECORDED; VOTERS EXPRESS SATISFACTION WITH SECURITY

The FCT Police Command, under the leadership of CP Miller Dantawaye, is closely monitoring the collation process across all Area Councils to ensure the peaceful announcement of election results, remaining fully committed to maintaining the integrity of the process.
Reports indicate that no arrests were made at any polling centre, reflecting the orderly conduct of voters throughout the elections.
The Police also noted that voters in several satellite towns and polling units visited by CP Dantawaye expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements in place.
“The electorate commended the professionalism, courtesy, and vigilance demonstrated by Police officers and other security personnel deployed for the elections,” said SP Josephine, spokesperson for the FCT Police Command.
In a statement, she added: “On Saturday, 21st February 2026, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, conducted a comprehensive assessment and monitoring tour of polling units across all Area Councils as part of efforts to ensure a peaceful, secure, and credible electoral process.
“Special attention was given to polling units in remote and border communities, including Igu Village in Bwari Area Council, Yangoji in Kwali, Giri in Gwagwalada, as well as units in Kuje and Abaji Area Councils.
“During the tour, the Commissioner engaged directly with voters and stakeholders to evaluate the conduct of security personnel and the overall security situation at polling units. He expressed gratitude to FCT residents and voters for their cooperation, which greatly contributed to the peaceful atmosphere observed across the Area Councils.”
