DEADLY BOKO HARAM AMBUSH HITS BORNO STATE VIGILANTES, ONE CJTF MEMBER LOST

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents ambushed a vigilante team on routine patrol along the Warave–Gwoza Road in Gwoza Local Government Area, killing one member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
According to security sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama, the attack occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday when the militants opened fire on CJTF operatives and local hunters patrolling the area.
During the assault, 50-year-old CJTF member Bello Adamu sustained fatal gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the General Hospital in Gwoza, where medical staff confirmed him dead on arrival. His body was later released to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

In response, troops from Operation HADIN KAI were deployed to secure the corridor. Security patrols and surveillance along the Warave–Gwoza axis have been intensified to prevent further attacks and track the assailants.
As of the time of reporting, military authorities have not issued an official statement on the incident.
