JORDAN CONFIRMS TURKEY FOR NIGERIA FRIENDLY

After days of uncertainty, the planned four-team friendly tournament featuring the Super Eagles, Jordan, Iran, and Costa Rica has been relocated to Turkey
The Jordan Football Association confirmed that the tournament will proceed in Antalya, Turkey, and that Iran—whose participation had been uncertain—will still take part.
“The Jordanian Football Association has decided to move the matches of the four-team international friendly tournament, scheduled for March 2026, to the Turkish city of Antalya due to the current situation in the region and restricted movement of people,” the FA said in a statement on its website.

“The tournament will feature the Jordanian national team, along with Iran, Nigeria, and Costa Rica, as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.”

Jordan is then scheduled to face Nigeria on Tuesday evening, March 31, while Iran will play its second match against Costa Rica on the same day.
The also confirmed to our correspondent that they were monitoring developments as organisers secured a new venue for the tournament.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is expected to announce his squad ahead of the international window. During this period, Nigeria is also awaiting a decision on its protest against the DR Congo national football team to the 2026 World Cup play-offs at Nigeria’s expense.
DR Congo is set to face the winner of the semi-final between New Caledonia and Jamaica on March 31 in Mexico.
