TUCHEL PUTS PRESSURE ON PALMER TO PROVE HIMSELF IN ENGLAND SQUAD

Thomas Tuchel has challenged Cole Palmer to earn his place in the England national football team, insisting the forward must prove his value in both training and matches.
Tuchel noted that England have built strong momentum in recent months without Palmer, meaning the burden is now on the Chelsea FC forward to demonstrate his importance to the squad.
“We have more evidence without him than with him, so the pressure is on him,” Tuchel said, adding that competition for the number 10 role remains intense.
Despite the warning, the England boss acknowledged Palmer’s positive attitude since rejoining the squad, praising his energy, openness, and willingness to integrate with teammates.
“He is in good spirits, he is open, and he is communicating and is showing his quality,” Tuchel added.
However, Tuchel stressed that attitude alone will not be enough, urging Palmer to deliver decisive performances when given opportunities.
“He needs to show up. He cannot hold back. He needs to understand he fights for his place, and we will not hand anything to anyone on a silver platter,” he said.
Palmer is expected to get chances in upcoming matches, where he will need to translate his promising training displays into impactful performances to secure a regular role in the squad.
