OGUN POLICE ARREST 25-YEAR-OLD FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING TWO, INJURING THREE IN KNIFE ATTACK

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, for allegedly killing two persons and injuring three others during a knife attack in the Olámbe area of the state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, describing the incident as a violent outburst linked to a failed business deal.
“Detectives of the Ajuwon Division have arrested Abubakar Musa, aged 25. He is accused of killing two people and injuring three others at Olámbe, Ogun State,” the statement read.
According to the police, the suspect attacked the victims with a knife after becoming agitated over unsuccessful business dealings. The victims were said to have been attempting to calm him when the attack occurred.
Providing further details, the command said the incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026. “At about 0138hrs, the suspect stabbed five people,” the statement added.
Two of the victims, identified as Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, and Chinedu, 40, died while being rushed to the hospital, where a doctor later confirmed them dead.
Three others—Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25—sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment. Police said the victims are in critical condition but responding to medical care.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene after the attack but was later apprehended by detectives. He is currently in police custody.
“The case and the suspect have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution,” the statement added.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, condemned the attack and assured residents that justice would be served. He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious or violent behaviour to security agencies.
