MASSIVE RALLY IN LAFIA BACKS SENATOR WADADA’S 2027 GOVERNORSHIP AMBITION

What is being described as a major show of support for Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada’s governorship ambition in Nasarawa State saw thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders take to the streets of Lafia in solidarity.
The Media reports that the supporters marched to the APC state secretariat and later proceeded to the Government House on Monday as part of the rally.
Senator Wadada, who currently represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District at the National Assembly under the APC, has continued to attract growing political attention ahead of the 2027 elections.
Addressing the large crowd, the leader of the solidarity group, Wadada Ambassadors, Zaidu Aliyu Tanko, reaffirmed their support for the senator, citing his experience, leadership qualities, and vision for the state.
He said Wadada possesses the competence required to drive sustainable development in Nasarawa State, describing him as a unifying figure with integrity and broad acceptability.

The group also called on the APC leadership and the state government to recognise Wadada’s aspiration, insisting that his political strength and experience make him well suited for the governorship position in 2027.
Tanko further disclosed that a formal letter of endorsement had been submitted to the APC leadership in the state, stressing that Wadada is well positioned to sustain the achievements of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
He added that the rally was a demonstration of unity within the party and urged supporters to promote their candidate without resorting to insults or attacks on others.
Receiving the group, the APC Chairman in Nasarawa State, Aliyu Bello, commended their conduct and encouraged all aspirants and supporters to maintain decorum throughout the political process.
He stressed that unity within the party is essential ahead of the 2027 elections, adding that the APC aims to retain power in the state beyond the current administration.
Bello also praised Governor Abdullahi Sule’s development efforts, noting significant progress in transforming Lafia into a modern city.
He urged all factions within the party to work together in support of whoever eventually emerges as the party’s governorship candidate.
Senator Wadada is widely regarded as a strong contender, with supporters pointing to his contributions to infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment across Nasarawa State’s 13 local government areas.
