By: Balogun Ibrahim
Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed the start of his scheduled three-nation tour, which will now commence on Sunday instead of Saturday as earlier announced.
The adjustment was confirmed on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, via his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Onanuga stated that the President’s departure for the foreign engagements had been shifted by a day, though no official reason was provided for the change.
Tinubu was initially billed to depart Abuja on Saturday for official visits to France, Kenya, and Rwanda.
According to an earlier statement, the trip will begin in France before continuing to Nairobi, Kenya, where he is expected to attend the Africa-France Summit co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.

The summit, scheduled for May 11 to 12, will focus on key issues such as energy transition, digital transformation, and climate action, with Tinubu expected to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships.
After the Kenya engagement, the President will proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum holding from May 14 to 15, which will bring together policymakers and business leaders to discuss investment and economic growth across Africa.
Tinubu is expected to use the platforms to highlight ongoing economic reforms aimed at making Nigeria more attractive to investors, while also holding strategic meetings with global and continental business leaders.
He will be accompanied on the trip by senior government officials and ministers, and is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding the Rwanda engagement.
