Abia South Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe has exited the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and moved to the Labour Party (LP).

The development was confirmed by the Abia State Labour Party Publicity Secretary, Emenike Iroegbu, who stated that the senator has formally joined the party.

Abaribe’s switch marks another shift in a political career defined by multiple party changes and strategic realignments.

He had previously joined the ADC in December after leaving the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), under which he secured reelection in the 2023 elections.

His time with the ADC lasted only a few months before this latest move.

Abaribe is currently in his fifth term representing the Abia South Senatorial District.

As of the time of this report, the senator has not personally confirmed or denied the defection.
