Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a 32-year-old suspect, Francis Duwa, in Benin City over alleged sexual exploitation and distribution of explicit content.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Eno Ikoedem, who briefed journalists in Benin City, two victims—a male and a female—were also rescued during the operation.

The suspect was accused of luring female victims to his residence in Iyekogba Estate, Oredo Local Government Area, under the pretense of arranging meetings. He allegedly exploited them during these encounters and recorded the incidents without their consent.

Police also alleged that the suspect sexually assaulted male victims and collaborated with other men in producing and circulating the explicit materials for financial benefit.

Ikoedem stated that the arrest followed a distress call from residents who reported suspicious activity and loud disturbances from the apartment, prompting a police raid.

During the operation, the victims were rescued, the suspect was arrested, and evidence was recovered from the scene.

The Command further said the suspect has been charged to court, while advising young people to engage in lawful means of livelihood.
