2027: WADADA ASKS FOR FORGIVENESS, SUPPORT AHEAD OF NASARAWA GOVERNORSHIP RACE

The preferred governorship aspirant of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Wadada, has appealed to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and residents of the state to forgive one another as he intensifies consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wadada made the appeal on Tuesday during a meeting with party stakeholders and supporters at the Nasarawa State Lodge in Abuja, shortly before submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms.
“As we approach the 2027 general elections, I want to urge us to continue to forgive ourselves because that is the best way to remain united as a people and achieve success,” he said.
He expressed gratitude for the support he has received across the state, stressing that he would not take it for granted.
The senator also appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule for endorsing his candidacy, describing the gesture as a show of trust and commitment to party unity.
Wadada further commended other aspirants who stepped down following the governor’s endorsement, saying their decision demonstrated patriotism and unity.
“To my fellow aspirants who have supported what the governor has decided, I cannot thank you enough. May God reward you abundantly,” he added.
He also acknowledged key party stakeholders, including APC State Chairman Dr Aliyu Bello and other leaders, for their contributions to strengthening the party.
An APC chieftain in the state, Dr Ahmed Mohammed Musa, urged members to remain united and accept Wadada as the party’s preferred choice, describing his emergence as “the will of God” and calling for collective support.
Similarly, Deputy Governor Dr Emmanuel Akabe called on residents to rally behind Wadada, saying it would ensure continuity of the state’s development agenda.
The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, also expressed confidence in the aspirant’s chances, citing the administration’s growing popularity.
After submitting his forms, Wadada told journalists that all 13 local government chairmen, as well as members of the state legislature, had endorsed his ambition.
He added that Nasarawa’s proximity to the Federal Capital Territory remained a strategic advantage that his administration would leverage for economic growth.
Wadada also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, linking increased federal allocations to ongoing economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, and urged continued public support for the administration.
