APC NEC Fixes Monday To Decide Oyegun’s Fate As National Chairman.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed next week Monday for the committee to take final decision on National Chairmanship tenure.
National Chairman of the Party, John Odigie-Oyegun, and the party publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi announced this on Thursday at the end of a three-hour meeting between governors elected on the party’s platform and the National Working Committee (NWC) held at the party secretariat in Abuja.
It was stated that the technical committee constituted to look into the matter would be expected to submit its report latest on Thursday to enable NEC to look at it.
The National Chairman, Chief Oyegun however gave assurance that the party was back United and focused to strongly support the Buhari led administration acrot he states.
The party had on Tuesday, constituted a 10-member technical committee headed by Gov. Simon Dalung of Plateau state to advise its leadership on the way forward on the tenure issue, following President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent opposition to NEC’s approval of tenure extension for the NWC and all executive committees of the party at all levels across the country, made at its meeting on Feb. 27th.
In the meantime, President Buhari had said at another meeting of NEC on the 26th of March that the NWC’s tenure extension decision was illegal and unconstitutional.
