Wolverhampton Wanderers have sent birthday wishes to their Nigerian goalkeeper Carl Ikeme who turned 32 on Friday.
Wolves sent the birthday wishes via their verified Twitter handle to celebrate Ikeme who is still undergoing treatment for acute leukaemia.
“All at Wolves would like to wish the big man, @Carl_Ikeme, a very happy birthday. We hope you enjoy your day and can’t wait to see you again soon,” Wolves, who will playing in the Premier League next season, tweeted.
Ikeme was in goal for the Super Eagles in three of their 2018 World Cup qualifiers (home and away against Swaziland and away to Zambia in Ndola)
His dreams of featuring for Nigeria at the World Cup were cut short on 6 July 2017 when it was announced he was diagnosed with acute leukaemia after returning abnormal blood tests during a routine pre-season check-up.
He made his international debut for Nigeria on 5 September 2015 against Tanzania in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualification game.
