The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has sacked suspended
Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Walter Onnoghen, who recently resigned, after finding him guilty of false declaration of assets in breach of the provisions of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) for public officials.
Delivering its judgement on Thursday, the three-man panel chaired by Danladi Umar, therefore, removed him from the office as Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman of National Judicial Council (NJC).

Onnoghen who was thereby banned from occupying any public office for the next ten years will also have the money in his five bank accounts that were not declared to the Nigerian Government, forfeited because they were acquired illegally.
