2023: SANWO-OLU EMERGES WINNER OF LAGOS STATE APC GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARY ELECTION
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, has won the All Progressives Congress governorship primaries in Lagos State after polling 1,170 votes out of 1,182 total votes cast.
He was declared winner at the primary held on Thursday at Mobolaji Johnson Sport Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
His contenders had complained that they had been barred from running in the primary.
“I am grateful to God, the distinguished delegates, and the leadership of the APC for the opportunity to continue the good work of governance that we have began in our great state,” the governor said.
“I am confident that, with this resounding victory in the primary election, we are united and ready to continue to be a beacon of hope and service to this great state.
“To the other contestants, I congratualte you for being a part of this very democratic process and invite you to join hands with me #ForAGreaterLagos.”
