ACTION ALLIANCE ACCUSES ATIKU-AMA ECHI MOVEMENT OF IDENTITY THEFT OVER USE OF AA ACRONYM

The National Chairman of the Action Alliance (AA), Kenneth Udeze, has accused the Atiku-Amaechi Movement of identity theft over its alleged unauthorised use of the party’s abbreviation.
Udeze described the circulation of membership cards and other materials bearing the acronym AA by the movement as misleading, deceptive and an attempt to create confusion among Nigerians.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Udeze maintained that AA is the exclusive, INEC-registered and constitutionally recognised abbreviation of the Action Alliance.
He stressed that the party has no affiliation with the Atiku-Amaechi Movement, its promoters or the membership cards being circulated.
According to the statement, the alleged adoption of the acronym by the movement amounts to an unlawful appropriation of the party’s identity and goodwill.
The Action Alliance consequently called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and members of the public to take note of the development and disregard materials circulated by the group.
The party also demanded that the promoters of the Atiku-Amaechi Movement immediately stop using the AA abbreviation.
Udeze further reaffirmed that the Action Alliance remains an independent political party under his leadership, warning that it would pursue all necessary legal measures to protect its name, logo and identity.
