ADELEKE RAISES ALARM OVER BVAS MALFUNCTION, ALLEGED INTIMIDATION IN OSUN POLL

The Osun State Governor and Accord Party governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed concern over reports of malfunctioning Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machines and alleged voter intimidation during Saturday’s governorship election.

Adeleke, who spoke during an interview with Osun Radio, said he had received reports from several polling units that the BVAS machines were either malfunctioning or operating slowly, resulting in delays in the accreditation of voters.

The governor also alleged that thugs were disrupting the electoral process in parts of Olorunda and Irewole Local Government Areas.

He specifically accused a man identified as Enuku and his associates of intimidating voters.

“Right now, there are complaints that BVAS are not working well. I am not happy at all. The police are aiding the APC. Enuku, the thug, is disturbing people,” Adeleke said.

He said many voters had turned out to exercise their franchise but were being delayed by the slow pace of accreditation.

“People came out to vote, but the machine is slow. It is not working well. INEC should find a solution. My people are being chased in Ikire. I am still watching them. I don’t know if the police are working for APC. I am still watching,” he added.

Adeleke also raised concerns over the conduct of security personnel in Olorunda and urged his supporters to remain calm while participating in the election.

“In Olorunda, they are behaving anyhow. My advice is that my people should vote and defend their votes. Don’t be afraid. It is just for one day,” the governor said.
