Balmoral Promotions and Stamina For Sale have launched the Stamina High Performance Academy in Nigeria, an initiative aimed at discovering and developing the next generation of Nigerian boxing talents.
The academy will commence operations simultaneously in Lagos and Akwa Ibom, combining Stamina’s high-performance boxing expertise from the United Kingdom with Balmoral’s Nigerian boxing and promotional platform.
The initiative is designed to focus on talent identification, athlete development and creating pathways for Nigerian boxers to pursue professional and international opportunities.
Founder of Stamina For Sale, Tunde Ajayi, said Nigeria possesses a wealth of boxing talent that requires proper identification and development.
According to him, the Stamina High Performance Academy will provide a structured pathway for talented and ambitious athletes to progress to the highest levels of the sport.
Ajayi, who has established a reputation for high-performance fighter development in the United Kingdom, has worked with several notable professional boxers, including Anthony Yarde, Daniel Dubois, Adam Azim, Danny Williams and Harry Simon. He is also known for his role in developing Yarde from an amateur novice into a world-level fighter.
He said the launch in Lagos and Akwa Ibom would serve as an important starting point for building a platform that connects Nigerian boxing talent with high-performance opportunities in the United Kingdom and other parts of the world.
Also speaking, Dr Ezekiel Adamu of Balmoral Promotions said Nigeria has both the talent and passion for boxing but requires more opportunities for athletes to be discovered, developed and showcased.
He said the partnership with Stamina brings together Nigerian opportunities and British boxing expertise, describing the launch of the academy as an important step towards developing the next generation of Nigerian boxers.
Further details on the academy’s initial talent identification trials in Lagos and Akwa Ibom are expected to be announced in the coming days.
