Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed suggestions of replacing Neymar in his squad after the forward suffered an injury ahead of the FIFA World Cup scheduled to begin in June.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference before Brazil’s friendly against Panama on Sunday, Ancelotti expressed confidence that Neymar would recover in time to feature during the tournament.

“We expect Neymar to return for the first match against Morocco or, at the latest, the following game,” Ancelotti said.

The Brazilian coach stressed that there would be no alterations to his final squad despite the injury setback.

“We are not making any changes. The 26 players selected are the ones going to the World Cup, and I have no intention of changing my plans. All 26 will be part of the tournament,” he added.

Following the Panama friendly, Brazil will take on Egypt in their final warm-up match before opening their World Cup campaign against Morocco on June 13 in New Jersey.
