EVERTON AGREE £40M DEAL TO SIGN US STRIKER FOLARIN BALOGUN FROM MONACO

Everton have reportedly reached an agreement with Monaco to sign United States striker Folarin Balogun in a deal worth £40 million ($54 million).
The transfer, reported on Monday, is subject to the completion of personal terms and a medical before the deal can be officially confirmed.
Everton will need to complete the formalities before Tuesday’s 10:00pm GMT transfer deadline for Balogun to return to the Premier League, three years after leaving Arsenal for Monaco.
The 25-year-old joined Monaco from Arsenal in a deal worth £35 million in 2023 and has since scored 31 goals in 91 appearances for the French club, including appearances in the UEFA Champions League.
Balogun, who was born in New York and moved to London as a child, came through Arsenal’s youth system before establishing himself as a senior international with the United States.
He attracted significant attention during the recent World Cup, both for his performances and controversy surrounding his suspension for the last-16 match against Belgium.
The striker had been handed a suspension after receiving a red card against Bosnia in the previous round, but the ban was subsequently removed following intervention by United States President Donald Trump.
If completed, Balogun’s move to Everton would mark a return to English football and provide the Premier League club with another attacking option ahead of the new campaign.
