Residents of Mada Station in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have raised concerns over increasing cases of kidnapping in the community, expressing fears for their safety following multiple abductions in recent days.
A resident, Micah Kuje, disclosed the development in a Facebook post on Thursday, stating that two people were abducted in Angwan Mission two days earlier, while a secondary school teacher, identified as Mr. Solomon Musa Ogah, was reportedly kidnapped in the early hours of Thursday.
According to Kuje, the victims were still in captivity as of the time he made the post, prompting renewed calls for urgent intervention by the government and security agencies.
He appealed to the Nasarawa State Government and relevant security authorities to intensify efforts to tackle the growing security concerns and ensure the safe return of the abducted residents.
Kuje specifically called on the lawmaker representing Nasarawa Eggon West Constituency, Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala; the Nasarawa State Police Command; and the Executive Chairman of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area to take immediate action to address the situation.
“The people of Mada Station are no longer safe. We are living in fear and we need urgent security intervention,” he said.
The resident stressed that protecting lives and property remained a fundamental responsibility of the government, urging the relevant authorities to strengthen security measures across the community.
He also expressed hope that the abducted victims would be rescued and reunited with their families safely.
