FUNKE AKINDELE’S LONDON MOVIE PREMIERE SELLS OUT AHEAD OF DECEMBER RELEASE

The London premiere of actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele’s forthcoming movie, The Four, at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square has sold out ahead of its Nigerian cinema release on December 11.
The film’s distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, announced the development in a post on X on Thursday, expressing appreciation to audiences for their support and confirming that tickets for the November 29 premiere were no longer available.
“We are officially sold out! You made this happen! The premiere of The Four at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square is officially sold out, and we couldn’t be more grateful,” the distributor stated.
Akindele had earlier announced the United Kingdom premiere on her verified Instagram account, describing the event as a major milestone for Nigerian cinema.
She wrote, “LONDON, WE’RE COMING! History is about to be made. Funke Akindele Network and FilmOne Entertainment are proud to announce the UK premiere of THE FOUR at the iconic ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, London, on 29 November.”
The filmmaker also expressed excitement about the event, noting that the screening at the prestigious London venue would mark another milestone for Nollywood.
The sold-out announcement comes ahead of the film’s scheduled nationwide cinema release in Nigeria on December 11, with FilmOne Entertainment handling its distribution.
Akindele, who has produced some of Nollywood’s highest-grossing films, has continued to expand the international reach of her productions through collaborations and promotional activities.
