IG APPOINTS FIRST FORCE MEDICAL SERVICES DIRECTOR

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has sanctioned the appointment of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Nkechi Eze, as the inaugural Director of the recently created Directorate of Force Medical Services.
In a declaration on Thursday, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, remarked that Eze’s appointment is a result of the recent elevation of the Nigeria Police Force Medical Section to a fully operational Directorate.
Hundeyin indicated that the appointment aims to provide extensive and effective healthcare services for police personnel across the nation.
According to the announcement, Egbetokun extended his congratulations to Eze on her new role and encouraged her to utilize her expertise and administrative acumen to establish the new directorate as a standard for excellence in police healthcare provision.
The statement read, “Nkechi Eze is a distinguished clinician, dental surgeon, and administrator who brings over 27 years of exemplary service to her new role.
“Born in Umuahia, Abia State, and hailing from Agbudu in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, AIG Eze holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Benin.
“Her illustrious career spans various formations across Oyo, Ekiti, Rivers, the Federal Capital Territory, and Lagos, where she has made significant contributions to advancing police healthcare services and officers’ welfare.”
The Inspector General stated that the creation of the Directorate of Force Medical Services constitutes a strategic investment in the welfare and productivity of police staff, which he deemed fundamental to the operational effectiveness of the Force.
