Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi is targeting the record for the most Premier League appearances by an African player, The Media reports.
The Nigerian international moved into second place on the all-time list after Fulham’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at Villa Park last Saturday.
Iwobi had previously shared the second position with former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.
The 30-year-old has now made 329 Premier League appearances across spells with three clubs.
He featured 100 times for Arsenal and 123 times for Everton before joining Fulham, where he has made 106 appearances.
Former Ivory Coast international Kolo Toure currently holds the record with 352 appearances.
Speaking to FFC TV, Iwobi said he was determined to surpass Toure’s tally.
“I’m trying to break the record. I think Kolo Toure is up there, so I’ll keep my eyes going forward and see if I can break that,” he said.
