LAGOS APC DEPUTY GOVERNOR CANDIDATE THANKS TINUBU, OTHERS FOR OPPORTUNITY

The deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Damilola James, has expressed appreciation to God, President Bola Tinubu, party leaders, and supporters following her emergence as the party’s running mate.
In a statement posted on her X handle on Wednesday, James said her nomination was a product of divine grace and guidance.
She described her emergence as evidence of the opportunities available in Lagos, noting that it reflects the state’s longstanding tradition of inclusiveness and progressive politics.
According to her, Lagos represents “endless possibilities,” adding that her political journey is a reminder that there are no limits to achievement.
She further stated that she believes God has been directing her path and expressed gratitude for His grace throughout her journey.
James also thanked President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for their support and leadership.
She praised Tinubu’s administration, saying it has strengthened democratic values and placed Nigeria on a more stable economic path.
The APC deputy governorship candidate also appreciated Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his wife Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, APC governorship candidate Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, and his wife Oluremi Hamzat for their encouragement.
She extended her gratitude to the leadership of the APC, saying she was honoured to be considered worthy of the responsibility.
James also commended the Governance Advisory Council led by Prince Tajudeen Olusi for its continued guidance and support within the party.
She acknowledged traditional rulers, community leaders, youth groups, women leaders, and party supporters across Lagos State for their roles in her emergence.
Reflecting on her political journey, she gave special recognition to the people of Badagry and Badagry West, where she previously served, describing their support as a source of strength and inspiration.
James dedicated her nomination to women, youths, and aspiring leaders, saying her emergence should encourage greater participation in governance.
She expressed readiness to work with the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, to build on and sustain development efforts in Lagos State.
She concluded by thanking Lagos residents for their support and praying for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in the state and across Nigeria.
