LASRRA KICKS OFF SENSITISATION CAMPAIGN AHEAD OF 2025 ARTISANS JAMBOREE IN LAGOS

The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has launched a pre-sensitisation awareness campaign for members of the Lagos State Council of Tradesmen and Artisans (LASCOTA) across all 57 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
The initiative forms part of preparations for the much-anticipated Artisans Jamboree scheduled to hold on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja.
The exercise began on Friday, August 15, 2025, with Amuwo-Odofin and Oriade Local Governments at Big Boy Arena, Alakija, Satellite Town. It will continue across selected locations as determined by different chapters of the association.
Designed to cover two to three local governments at a time, the sensitisation campaign aims to ensure full engagement of all 57 LGAs and LCDAs ahead of the jamboree. The outreach also highlights the importance of residents’ registration and validation while educating tradesmen and artisans on how the process enhances access to government programmes and benefits.
Speaking on the initiative, the General Manager of LASRRA, Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, stressed that the programme underscores the agency’s core mandate of maintaining “an accurate and reliable residents’ database, which in turn supports effective policy planning and service delivery.”
Represented by the Director of Public Affairs, LASRRA, Basirat Lawal, Adebiyi-Abiola urged tradesmen and artisans to seize the opportunity to register or validate their information before the Artisans Jamboree, which she said promises “different side attractions and excitements.”
A key feature of the sensitisation drive is the on-the-spot registration and validation of participants yet to be captured in the LASRRA database, ensuring that all attendees can fully benefit from being recognised as registered residents of Lagos State.
