The arrest, which occurred around 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, was described as a violation of the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law.
According to LAWMA, Onyekwere’s residential address could not be verified at the time of his arrest, and he has since been transferred to the agency’s legal team office at the Oshodi Taskforce Office for prosecution.
The arrest was confirmed on Wednesday in a statement posted on X by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Muyiwa Gbadegeshin.
