Chelsea have informed Manchester City that they must submit an offer for Enzo Fernandez by 5pm on Friday if they want to sign the Argentina international this summer.

Manchester City are interested in the midfielder, who has a strong relationship with Enzo Maresca following their time together at Chelsea. Maresca, who has since replaced Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, is reportedly keen to reunite with Fernandez.

However, Chelsea have placed a £120 million valuation on the 25-year-old and are under no pressure to sell, with Fernandez still having six years remaining on his contract.

The Blues have made it clear that if City fail to meet their asking price by the deadline, they will not sanction Fernandez’s departure during the current transfer window.

Fernandez had also attracted interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid earlier in the summer.
