NDC RAISES ALARM OVER IMPOSTOR POSING AS DEPUTY PUBLICITY SECRETARY

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has disowned Mr. Okey Ezeala, warning its members and the public that he is not an official or authorised representative of the party despite allegedly presenting himself as its Deputy National Publicity Secretary.
The clarification was contained in a disclaimer issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director Esq., who accused Ezeala of impersonation and other activities the party described as fraudulent.
According to the statement, Ezeala was neither elected nor appointed as the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary and is not a member of either the National Executive Committee (NEC) or the National Working Committee (NWC).
The party alleged that it had received multiple complaints accusing Ezeala of falsely claiming to be a party official and a member of its National Working Committee.
It further alleged that he collected large sums of money from some individuals under the guise of securing party tickets and political appointments.
The NDC also accused Ezeala of organising what it described as an illegal party congress through intimidation and other unlawful means, resulting in the emergence of a parallel executive in Abia State.
Insisting that Ezeala has never occupied any leadership position within the party, the statement said: “Mr. Okey Ezeala is neither elected nor appointed by any organ of our great party as Deputy National Publicity Secretary or as a member of the NWC or NEC.”
The party cautioned members and the general public against dealing with Ezeala on its behalf, stressing that he has no authority to act or conduct any transaction in the name of the NDC.
It added that Ezeala is not a member of the party’s executive at the national, state or local government levels and urged anyone who may have fallen victim to his alleged activities to report the matter to the office of the National Secretary for appropriate action.
