NOTHING MORE TO SAY AFTER READING RONALDO’S STATEMENT — JORGE JESUS

Portugal national team coach Jorge Jesus has declined to comment further on Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent public statement detailing their dispute.
Approached by journalists on Wednesday morning as he left home for the Portuguese Football Federation headquarters, Jesus confirmed that he had read the forward’s lengthy account of the disagreement.
In a post by Fabrizio Romano on X on Wednesday, Jesus said, “I read the statement and now, like I do every day, I’m going to the Federation headquarters to work, to think about the Portuguese national team,” Jesus said. “I have nothing more to say.”
Ronaldo’s statement, released on Tuesday, detailed his version of events that led to his departure from the national team camp during the recent international window.
The 41-year-old accused Jesus of breaking his word twice — first by failing to substitute him into the match against Norway after warming him up, and again by not delivering agreed talking points at a subsequent press conference.
Jesus has previously maintained that there is no lasting rift between them and that Ronaldo remains eligible for future selection.
It was earlier reported that Jesus said late Tuesday that he had not read Ronaldo’s lengthy public statement detailing their recent dispute, explaining that he was watching the Portugal under-21 team instead.
