OSUN DECIDES 2026: RESIDENT RAISES CONCERN OVER ALLEGED ERROR IN VOTE RECORDS

An Osun resident, David Adesina, has raised concerns over an alleged discrepancy in the recording of results at a polling unit during Saturday’s governorship election, claiming that the votes secured by the Accord Party were initially recorded incorrectly before the figure was corrected.
In a video shared on X on Saturday by News Central TV, Adesina said that after the ballot papers were counted, the Accord Party secured 212 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 107 votes.
He alleged that a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member monitoring the process subsequently recorded the Accord Party’s score as 012 instead of 212.
Adesina said those present pointed out the error. “We said not 012 was supposed to be 212,” he stated in the video interview. He added that the figure was then changed to 212 and signed. “Later I now change it to 212 and you now sign on it,” Adesina said.
He appealed for the matter to be widely known to prevent any further alteration.
“Please let all the world hear this so that later later they will not change it for us. Thank you and God bless you,” Adesina said.
Voting and the counting of ballots took place across polling units in the state on Saturday as residents elected a governor.
The Independent National Electoral Commission is overseeing the process, with results being announced at individual polling units before further collation.
