Famous Nigerian Afrobeat artiste, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has raised concerns over an alleged plot to deregister the Accord Party ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State.
The singer made the allegation in a post on X on Thursday, questioning the rationale behind the reported move and calling for a free and fair electoral process.
He wrote: “Deregister Accord party for what? Cowards let’s go to the field.”
His comments came 48 hours after he also criticised the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, over an alleged attempt linked to recent political developments in the state.
the media reports that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is also Davido’s uncle, had earlier announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party in December 2025 following internal crises, subsequently joining the Accord Party for his re-election bid.
The Osun State governorship election is scheduled for August 15, 2026.
