The Deputy Campaign Spokesperson of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Sam Omale, has dismissed concerns about the health of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, saying he is in good health but experiencing exhaustion due to his demanding schedule.

Omale made this known during an interview on Channels Television, where he explained that Obi’s frequent movements between locations and packed political engagements had left him physically tired.

According to him, Obi is deeply committed to his political activities and often handles several responsibilities at the same time, leaving him with little opportunity to rest.

Omale described the candidate’s hectic schedule, noting that he could travel from London one day and be in Enugu the following morning.

“Sometimes I wonder where he gets his energy from. He is in London today and the following morning in Enugu. I’m wondering how he does it. Exhaustion comes in; he is a human being,” he said.

The NDC spokesperson, however, insisted that Obi had no underlying health concerns, adding that members of his team were encouraging him to slow down and get enough rest.

“He is in perfect health. There’s nothing wrong with him. It’s just exhaustion, and we are trying to calm him down to take a sleep. He is fine,” he added.

Omale further maintained that the exhaustion would not affect the party’s ongoing campaign activities.
