The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, on Monday attended a one-day training programme focused on strengthening election security ahead of upcoming elections.
The training, held at the M.D. Abubakar Hall, Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, was organised by the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2 Zonal Headquarters, in collaboration with the Institute for Police and Security Policy Research.

The programme was themed, “Professionalism, Neutrality and Collaboration: Strengthening Election Security for Safe and Credible Elections.”

The training formed part of proactive measures by the Nigeria Police Force to enhance the preparedness of its personnel for election security operations.
It focused on strengthening professionalism, neutrality and operational readiness among police officers, while promoting effective collaboration among stakeholders towards ensuring safe, peaceful and credible elections.

Participants at the training included the 14 Area Commanders of the Lagos State Police Command, alongside their counterparts from the Ogun State Command.

The programme is expected to further equip senior police officers with the knowledge and operational strategies required to effectively manage election-related security challenges and maintain public confidence throughout the electoral process.
