POLITICIANS ARE NIGERIA’S BIGGEST PROBLEM, PRAY FOR US — OBI

The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, has blamed Nigeria’s persistent challenges on politicians and poor leadership.
Obi made the statement on Sunday while speaking at Koinonia Global, hosted by Apostle Joshua Selman.
The former Anambra State governor maintained that Nigeria itself was not the problem, arguing that the country’s major setback was the quality of leadership provided by its political class.
Obi appealed to the congregation to remember political leaders in their prayers, saying Nigerians needed divine intervention to transform the country’s leadership.
“We are the problem of the country. There’s nothing wrong with Nigeria. What is wrong in Nigeria is the leadership, the politicians God created in this country,” he said.
He urged God to touch the hearts of political leaders and inspire them to use public resources for the benefit of citizens rather than personal gain.
“Let God touch our hearts to use public money for public good. Let God touch us to stop stealing. That is why people are suffering here,” Obi said.
According to him, Nigeria possesses enough wealth and resources to significantly improve the living conditions of its citizens if properly managed and invested.
“If we use the wealth of this nation and invest it, it will go a long way. So remember us in your prayers,” he added.
Obi, who said his travels to different countries had exposed him to nations where systems function effectively, attributed the differences largely to leadership.
“I’ve been to so many countries of the world. And I’ve seen things work in other nations. It is leadership,” he said.
He also appealed to Nigerians not to take sides when praying for political leaders, urging them to remember all politicians regardless of their political affiliations.
“Don’t say one is good, the other one is bad. All of us, remember all of us in your prayers, because the problem of the country can be solved. I assure you of that,” he added.
