RAINBOW COALITION: ‘THANK GOD I’M NOT ON WIKES’ LIST’

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has expressed relief that he was not among the governors the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, accused of fighting his Rainbow Coalition.

Sule made the remark on Tuesday during an interview with TVC, while speaking on the political disagreement between Wike and some All Progressives Congress governors over the coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike had on Monday named three APC governors whom he accused of opposing his coalition.

The governors are Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma; Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; and Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun.

Reacting to Wike’s remarks, Sule said he was grateful that his name was not included on the list.

“Thank God I’m not on that list. I feel relieved that I’m not on Wike’s list of APC governors fighting the Rainbow Coalition,” Sule said.

He noted that although Wike is a minister in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, he is not a member of the APC.

“Wike is one of the ministers in this administration, and if he says he wants to support President Tinubu from another party, remember he’s not an APC member,” he said.

Sule also questioned the purpose of the alliance, suggesting that the message from the Governors’ Forum may have been misunderstood.

“What’s the whole essence of an alliance? I think the Governors’ Forum message was misunderstood,” the governor said.
