TINUBU EMERGES APC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR 2027 AFTER LANDSLIDE PRIMARY VICTORY

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general election after securing an overwhelming victory in the party’s nationwide primary election.
Results collated from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory showed Tinubu polling a total of 10,999,967 votes to defeat his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, who garnered 16,504 votes.
The figures were announced during the national collation exercise held at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre.
The APC presidential primary election was conducted across 8,809 wards nationwide, with governors from 31 states and senior party officials serving as coordinators and collation officers presenting results before the Presidential Primary Election Committee chaired by former Senate President Pius Anyim.
Tinubu recorded dominant victories across the South-West geopolitical zone, widely regarded as a stronghold of the ruling party.
In Lagos State, he polled 814,988 votes, while Ogun State delivered 322,485 votes. He also secured 181,996 votes in Ondo State, 142,754 in Oyo State, 100,888 in Osun State, and 85,340 votes in Ekiti State.
Osifo recorded only marginal figures across the region, including 1,186 votes in Lagos and 929 in Oyo.
The North-West region also produced strong support for the President.
Tinubu polled 618,914 votes in Kaduna State, 500,852 in Kano State, and 467,003 votes in Katsina State.
Other significant returns included 450,517 votes in Gombe State, 292,972 in Kebbi State, 301,000 in Sokoto State, and 321,579 votes in Zamfara State.
In the North-Central zone, Tinubu secured 374,787 votes in Benue State, 310,990 in Kwara State, 285,436 in Nasarawa State, 241,720 in Plateau State, 197,370 in Kogi State, and 175,487 in Niger State.
The Federal Capital Territory delivered 36,103 votes to the President, while Osifo reportedly failed to secure any vote there.
In the South-East, Tinubu polled 582,960 votes in Imo State, 383,382 in Enugu State, 207,579 in Ebonyi State, 161,005 in Abia State, and 43,034 votes in Anambra State.
In the South-South region, Tinubu secured 407,646 votes in Delta State, 389,197 in Akwa Ibom State, 280,082 in Rivers State, and 227,192 in Bayelsa State.
At the conclusion of the collation, Tinubu was officially declared winner of the APC presidential primary election, clearing the way for his bid to seek re-election in the 2027 presidential poll.
