UAE CONDEMNS IRANIAN ATTACK ON TWO ADNOC-LINKED VESSELS IN STRAIT OF HORMUZ

The United Arab Emirates has condemned an alleged Iranian attack on two vessels linked to the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) while they were transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement on Friday, described the incident as a “hostile Iranian attack,” adding that no injuries were reported.
ADNOC also confirmed that two of its vessels came under attack while passing through the strategic waterway on Thursday evening.
According to the company, the situation was brought under control, with the official Emirates News Agency, WAM, reporting the incident.
The development comes amid heightened tensions over access to the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy route.
Iran has reportedly imposed an effective blockade of the strait and is seeking to charge vessels for passage, a move strongly opposed by the United States.
Iran is currently engaged in discussions with Oman over arrangements for the future management of the strategic waterway.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime routes for energy shipments, making any disruption in the area a potential concern for global oil markets and regional security.
