Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwo, popularly known as Mama G, has explained why she is often cast in witchcraft and villainous roles in movies, saying such characters give her an opportunity to highlight the consequences of evil and injustice.

Ozokwo made this known during a livestream interview with popular Nigerian streamer Carter Efe on Monday, where she was asked why she frequently portrays witches in films.

The actress said the roles align with her belief in promoting moral values and discouraging wrongdoing.

“God carved that niche for me to be able to, I think, expose every ill. God created me to expose it,” she said.

She added, “I hate injustice. I hate war. I hate anything that shows rancour.”

According to Ozokwo, she approaches such roles with the aim of helping audiences understand the consequences of negative behaviour and the importance of making the right choices.

“So when He gave me that kind of role, I try to bring out everything I know about it, that if you are taking part in any of them, you will be careful and know the end thereof,” she said.

The actress further explained that through her portrayals, she hopes viewers will recognise the consequences of living a bad life and the benefits of doing what is right.

“You know what will happen to you if you live a terrible life. And you know what you gain if you are a good person,” she said.
