‘YOU’RE BROKE’ – DAVIDO FIRES BACK AT IYABO OJO’S PARTNER PAULO OVER AFROBEATS REMARKS

Afrobeats star Davido has criticised music promoter and Iyabo Ojo’s partner, Paulo Okoye, over his recent comments about the state of Afrobeats.

The media reports that Paulo, while expressing concern over the rising fees charged by top Nigerian Afrobeats artistes, questioned whether the music genre was “dead or in a coma.”

Reacting to his remarks, Nigerian Grammy-nominated singer and music executive Bankulli faulted Paulo’s comments, suggesting that his concerns may have been influenced by his inability to afford the fees charged by top artistes.

Davido subsequently joined the exchange, taking a swipe at Paulo over the remarks.

Supporting Bankulli’s claim, Davido took to the comments section to tag Paulo “broke.”

Davido wrote; “PAUL O AKA PAUL BROKE.”

This is coming nearly two years after Paulo publicly defended Davido against the critic of his “Nigeria economy is in shambles” statement on The Big Homies House podcast.

The media reports that Iyabo Ojo confirmed her romance with her billionaire lover, Paulo, during her 45th birthday celebration in December 2022.
