FEC Approves Bigger Seaport for Badagry
The Federal Government has approved the construction of a bigger seaport in Badagry, in Lagos State.
Minister for Information, Lai Mohammed, who disclosed this at the end of the Federal Executive Council meeting held in Abuja, said the project would be built by the private sector.
Minister for Power, Housing and Works, Babatunde Fashola, who also spoke, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari on behalf of the government and people of Lagos State for the approval.
He said that the project had been on since 2012 but that the administration of Dr. goodluck Jonathan withheld approval for the project.
Fashola said Nigeria needed a bigger port remained competitive saying that some African countries already had bigger ports than Nigeria.
