The North-West Zonal Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Sen. Bello Gwarzo, has described the victory of the party in the Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State as a light for the party.

He made the remark in Kano while congratulating Senator Ademola Adeleke on behalf of the PDP family in the North-West Zone.

Senator Gwarzo went on to say that Adeleke was a tenacious person who fought for his illegally obtained mandate.

Sen. Adeleke is a strong leader who has worked relentlessly for the party and shown good leadership characteristics. At this important time when conditions have gotten worse in every area of the state, the people of Osun want him.

“His victory is a light for our party and an indicator that the PDP will emerge victorious in the 2023 polls.

Nigerians should keep in mind that the PDP is prepared to reposition this country and improve their lives as we get ready for the 2023 elections.

“It is clear that the situation we are in now is the result of poor leadership, as well as a lack of planning and preparation on the part of the All Progressives Congress-led government. They arrived unprepared, and our party is prepared to right any wrongs the APC has done, added Gwarzo.

He consequently urged the party members to obtain Permanent Voter Cards so they could fulfill their civic duty to cast their votes for the candidates of their choice.

In a hotly contested campaign, Adeleke defeated the incumbent, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, with a total of 403,371 votes, according to Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the returning officer for the election and vice chancellor of the University of Lagos.
