PASSERSBY RESCUE LAGOS ENTREPRENEUR AFTER ATTEMPTING SUICIDE AT THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE
By Aishat Momoh. O.
Mrs. Farida Sobowale, a socialite from Lagos, tried to jump into the Lagos Lagoon on Thursday but was saved by onlookers at the extension of the Third Mainland Bridge.
Apparently parking her Lexus SUV close to the edge of the bridge, the owner of House of Phareedah Bodycare and Spa tried to jump into the lagoon before being prevented.
An emotional entrepreneur wearing all black was seen in a viral video being comforted by worried bystanders.
As of publication, the cause of her attempted suicide is unknown; however, rumors point to marital problems.
Despite Section 327 of the Criminal Code Act in Nigeria punishing suicide victims, Sobowale’s suicide attempt is the most recent in a string of instances on the Third Mainland Bridge and other significant bridges throughout Lagos that have almost become a concerning recurrence.
